Property Registration
When you buy or sell a property in Telangana, the sale deed must be registered at the Sub-Registrar's office. Registration makes the transfer of ownership legal and permanent. Skipping it means the buyer has no legal proof of ownership.
- Property buyers who need to register a sale deed after purchasing a flat, plot, or house - Property sellers completing the registration formalities on their end - Anyone registering a gift deed, partition deed, or mortgage deed - Citizens who want to book a slot online before visiting the Sub-Registrar's office
1. Both buyer and seller must prepare the sale deed with the help of a registered document writer or lawyer. 2. Visit the IGRS Telangana portal and use the **Slot Booking** feature to fix an appointment at the Sub-Registrar's office (mandatory for most urban areas). 3. Calculate the stamp duty and registration fee using the online calculator on the IGRS portal. 4. Pay the stamp duty online and download the challan. 5. On the appointment day, both buyer and seller (and two witnesses) must visit the Sub-Registrar's office with original documents and Aadhaar cards. 6. The Sub-Registrar scans biometrics and photographs, then registers the deed. 7. Collect the registered document from the office (same day or next day).
