Aasara Social Security Scheme
Aasara is Telangana's umbrella social security scheme that bundles several pensions under one programme — old age, widow, disability, toddy tappers, weavers, and others. All eligible beneficiaries receive a monthly cash transfer directly to their bank account.
- Senior citizens, widows, and persons with disabilities who have not yet enrolled - Citizens from weaver, toddy tapper, or fishermen communities applying for category-specific pension - Existing beneficiaries who want to check payment status or update their details - Community volunteers or Secretariat staff helping residents understand which pension category applies to them
1. Identify the correct pension category for the applicant (old age, widow, disability, weavers, etc.). 2. Visit the local Ward / Village Secretariat and request the Aasara application form for the relevant category. 3. Fill in the form with personal, Aadhaar, and bank details. Attach the relevant supporting documents for your category (death certificate, disability certificate, caste/occupation proof). 4. Submit the application at the Secretariat; the Welfare Secretary will register and verify the submission. 5. A government official may conduct a household survey to verify eligibility. 6. Approved beneficiaries are added to the Aasara beneficiary list and begin receiving monthly payments. 7. Payments are made around the 1st of each month directly into the linked bank account.
