Apply for a New Ration Card
A ration card is an official family document that allows eligible households to buy subsidised rice, sugar, and other essential items through the Public Distribution System (PDS). In Telangana, the Civil Supplies Department manages ration cards.
- Families that do not have a ration card and want to apply for one - Newly married couples setting up a separate household - Migrant families who have moved to Telangana and need a local ration card - Families whose ration card was lost or cancelled and need a fresh one
1. Visit the Telangana Civil Supplies Department portal or the MeeSeva centre nearest to you. 2. Select **New Ration Card Application** and fill in the head-of-family's details and all members' details. 3. Upload or submit documents: Aadhaar cards of all family members, proof of residence (electricity bill, rental agreement), and an income declaration. 4. Pay the nominal application fee if applicable. 5. Your application is sent to the local Civil Supplies Inspector for field verification. 6. If approved, the ration card is issued in digital form (link to Aadhaar) and can also be downloaded. 7. Choose your nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) to buy subsidised rations.
