Old Age Pension (Aasara)
The Telangana government's Aasara scheme provides a monthly pension directly to eligible senior citizens. The money is transferred to the beneficiary's bank account every month, giving elderly people a small but regular income to meet daily needs.
- Senior citizens aged 57 and above (as per current Telangana eligibility norms) with no regular income - Family members applying on behalf of an elderly relative who cannot visit an office - Existing beneficiaries who need to update their bank account or address - Citizens who have been excluded in a resurvey and want to appeal
1. Visit your Ward Secretariat (urban) or Village Secretariat (rural) — this is the most common starting point. 2. Ask for the **Aasara Pension Application** form, or download it online from the Telangana Social Welfare portal. 3. Fill in the applicant's details: name, age, Aadhaar number, income status, and bank account details. 4. Attach documents: Aadhaar card, bank passbook copy, age proof (school certificate or birth certificate), and an income declaration. 5. Submit the application at the Secretariat; the Ward/Village Welfare Secretary registers it. 6. A field verification may be done by a government official. 7. Once approved, the monthly pension is credited to the bank account linked to Aadhaar.
