Widow & Disability Pension
The Telangana government provides a separate monthly pension for widows and people with disabilities under the Aasara scheme. This gives a direct cash transfer to people who have lost a spouse or who cannot support themselves due to a physical or mental disability.
- Widows who lost their spouse and have no other regular income - Persons with disabilities (physical, visual, hearing, or intellectual) who are eligible for state support - Family members helping an eligible relative apply for the first time - Existing beneficiaries who need to update their bank details or appeal a rejection
1. Visit your local Ward Secretariat (urban) or Village Secretariat (rural). 2. Ask for the **Widow Pension** or **Disability Pension** application form (part of the Aasara scheme). 3. Fill in personal details, Aadhaar number, and bank account information. 4. For widow pension: attach the spouse's death certificate and proof of marriage. 5. For disability pension: attach a disability certificate (at least 40% disability as assessed by a government doctor; see our Disability Certificate page). 6. Submit the form at the Secretariat and collect the acknowledgement slip. 7. Once verified and approved, the monthly pension amount is credited to the Aadhaar-linked bank account.
